NEWSLETTER 009/08- May Activities Monterrico, April 29th, 2008
Dear Parents, Here are the main activities to be held in May. One of the most important of course is Mother’s Day; we will celebrate with Prekindergarten and Kindergarten Mothers and their children. We send our best wishes to all the mothers of Trener School on this very special day! We will also begin with the evaluations of the children who will be joining us next year. If you have a child that should be registered for the 2009 school year, we invite you to come to the Secretary’s Office and coordinate with them. Also, all teachers from 3rd to 11th grade will be sending Notices of Improvement and Difficulties on April 29th in order to alert those students who need to special work to achieve the goals of this term. Remember that these notices should be seen as an opportunity to improve, since there is still time to do it. But in the same way, not receiving this notice does not guarantee not to fail at the end of the term, if a student does not work well in the last part of it. It is very important that all students use the Study time at home, do homework and submit it on time and also attend the remedial and advice hour sessions offered by the school. If you want to have further information on your son/daughter’s performance, do not hesitate to set an appointment with the corresponding teacher or homeroom teacher according to the guidelines stated in the newsletter sent home on April 2nd, 2008. The most important will be obviously our Family Day on Saturday 24th.
Additionally our counseling office will continue with psychopedagogical evaluations in grades PK and 7th- 10th grade this month. Our tenth graders will start working on their vocational orientation through the use of Webquest. Finally, we would like to inform you that this month we will have interclass soccer games for students in grades 7 through 9, as part of our sports program. Estimados padres de familia: En esta circular les informamos de las actividades del mes de mayo, mes en el que celebraremos el día de la madre con las mamás de inicial y sus hijos e hijas. ¡Feliz Día desde ya a todas las mamás! Este mes también estarán iniciándose las evaluaciones de los niños que ingresarán el próximo año al colegio. En el caso de tener hijos menores que deban ingresar en el 2009, les pedimos coordinar a la brevedad posible con secretaría. Asimismo, los profesores de las diversas áreas desde 3º hasta 11º estarán enviando los avisos de avances y dificultades el martes 29 de abril, poniendo en alerta a los alumnos que necesiten tomar medidas para alcanzar las metas de este primer trimestre. Recuerden que el sentido de estos avisos es dar una oportunidad para que cada uno pueda mejorar, pues queda el tiempo suficiente en el trimestre; pero por el mismo motivo, el no recibir un aviso no garantiza que un alumno cumpla las metas del primer trimestre, si se descuida en la segunda mitad del periodo. En particular, es muy importante que cumplan con el horario de estudio en casa y la presentación puntual de las tareas, así como que aprovechen las horas de nivelación y asesoría que el colegio les brinda. Si desean conversar más sobre el desempeño de sus hijos, no duden en pedir una cita con el tutor o el profesor correspondiente, de acuerdo a las indicaciones enviadas en la circular del 2 de abril de 2008. La más es importante será sin duda la celebración de nuestro Family Day el sábado 24.
Adicionalmente el psicopedagógico continuará con su trabajo de evaluaciones psicopedagógicas en PK y 7º este mes. Además, los alumnos de 10º iniciarán su trabajo de orientación vocacional con el Webquest. Finalmente, les informamos que en nuestro programa de deporte estaremos realizando los partidos de interclases de fulbito, damas y varones, de 7º a 9º este mes.
