NOTICE 019/08 – Safety and Courtesy Rules

Monterrico, August 4th 2008

 Dear Parents, 

We would like to remind you of the safety and courtesy rules mentioned in notice 001/05 given to you at the beginning of the school year, regarding admission to school facilities and your children’s pickup from school: 

Ø       Children and adults are expected to emphasize goods habits and say hello and goodbye to people everyday.

Ø       Safety regulations in the school entrance and surroundings are to be complied with. Guardians and police officers are there to remind us of the rules to follow and deserve our respect and attention. Order helps guarantee our children’s safety.

Ø       Respect dismissal times and make arrangements so that your children do not stay in the school facilities longer than necessary especially if they go back home alone.

Ø       Talk to your children so that they do not buy things from vendors on the streets surrounding the school. We all want to avoid the stranger-danger situations.

Ø       Always bring your child’s school ID. If you fail to bring it, show your DNI instead. Staff workers know most of the parents, however, we kindly ask you to cooperate with them and bring these IDs so you may enter the school.

Ø       Your child’s homeroom teacher, the school’s secretary and the movilidad (transportation) must all be notified of any change or unexpected situation that may come up regarding your child’s pickup from school.

Ø       Trener 1 students must have written permission signed by their parents or legal guardian for them to leave the school facilities without an adult.

Ø       Trener 2 (grades 10 and 11) students may leave the school without and adult unless otherwise indicated by their parents or legal guardian (written request). 

Ø       Students may not re-enter the school facilities once they leave, unless prior arrangements are made.  

If your children go to school on their own, we suggest you talk to them and discuss the necessary precautions to be taken; such as avoiding distraction and cell phone use when walking down the streets. They are advised to go straight back home and refrain from wandering the school surroundings. We believe that it is particularly important that they stay in groups and avoid Cristóbal de Peralta Avenue and the pedestrian bridges adjacent to the school.  

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these measures that will guarantee your children’s safety and welfare. Remember that our actions are also a source of learning for our boys and girls.

CIRCULAR Nº 019/08 - Normas de Seguridad y Urbanidad

Estimados padres de familia: 

Queremos recordarles las normas de seguridad y urbanidad mencionadas en la circular 001/05 entregada a inicios del año, respecto al ingreso de personas al colegio y al recojo de sus hijos: 

Ø       Reforzar en nosotros y nuestros chicos los buenos hábitos de saludar y despedirse amablemente cada día.

Ø       Cumplir con las normas de seguridad en la puerta del colegio y en los alrededores. Los vigilantes y policías están ahí para recordarnos lo necesario y merecen nuestro respeto y atención. Cuanto más orden haya en los alrededores más seguros estarán nuestros chicos.

Ø       Respetar los horarios de salida y evitar que sus hijos se queden más de la cuenta, especialmente si luego se regresan solos.

Ø       Evitar que sus hijos compren a los ambulantes que puedan estar por los alrededores del colegio, debido a que la presencia de personas extrañas implica una serie de riesgos que deseamos evitar.

Ø       Traer siempre el carné para ingresar al colegio.  En caso de no traerlo será necesario identificarse previamente con su D.N.I.  Si bien la mayoría de nuestro personal conoce a los padres de familia, les pedimos colaborar con el personal de portería y contar siempre con esos documentos para poder ingresar al colegio.

Ø       Coordinar adecuadamente cualquier cambio o imprevisto en el recojo de sus hijos con el tutor (a través de una nota en la agenda o llamada telefónica) o la secretaría y la movilidad.

Ø       En el caso de los alumnos del Trener 1, les recordamos que para que puedan salir solos del colegio, deberán presentar una autorización escrita por sus padres.

Ø       En el caso de los alumnos del local “Trener 2” (10º y 11º) podrán salir solos, salvo indicación escrita de sus padres.

Ø       Una vez que se retiran del local, no podrán reingresar, a menos que se coordine.  

En los casos en que se movilizan solos recomendamos conversar detenidamente con sus hijos sobre las necesarias precauciones, como salir acompañados, no estar distraídos o hablando por celular, ni quedarse jugando por ahí. En particular, recomendamos que se movilicen acompañados y NO por Cristóbal de Peralta o los puentes peatonales. 

Agradecemos su comprensión y colaboración con estas medidas que garantizarán la seguridad de sus hijos. Recordemos también que nuestros actos educan a nuestros chicos y chicas.
